Laboratory of Computational Intelligence and Automation

The laboratory of computational intelligence and automation (LCIA) at the University of Waterloo conducts advanced research in modular manufacturing and intelligent control. LCIA is headed by Dr. William Melek and currently has 6 full-time graduate students. LCIA has a cleanroom facility that houses an advanced micromanipulation workcell. LCIA facility also houses a one-of-a-kind MRR 2000-100 modular and reconfigurable robot. LCIA personnel and research staff specialize in design, modeling and control of modular manipulators for flexible automation. The research activities of LCIA are funded by several government agencies and private collaborators. Click on the menu items on your left for more information about LCIA.
